COUN 569: Treatment in the Context of the Family

In this course, students engage in an advanced study of characteristics and treatment interventions in family and couples therapy. Regarding the family as social system, students examine advanced interactional processes, role structure and conflicts, and situational variables (culture, gender, SES, etc), utilizing case studies, diagnosis, and treatment techniques within the framework of the traditional and non traditional family configurations in our world. 3 hours lecture.
