COUN 583: Counseling in Schools
In this course, students explore school counseling from its early development as a vocational service, through its evolution to the current initiatives focused on promoting academic, career, social and emotional development for all students from a systemic and systematic approach. Emphasis is placed upon the comprehensive roles and responsibilities of contemporary school counselors using the American School Counselor Association National Model. 3 hours lecture.
Prerequisites: COUN 552, COUN 588, and Matriculation in Graduate Counseling Program, CNSN and SCCO or department approval
