Students who need general advising and academic planning should see their faculty advisors prior to any registration periods. A student can find out who his or her faculty advisor is by logging into his or her account in Student Services and clicking on My Advisor.
During registration periods, students who need authorizations or permits to register for classes should send an email to: firstname.lastname@example.org
Each member of the Department of Health and Nutrition Sciences advisement team has specific responsibilities. The advisement team consists of:
Students are responsible for reviewing their degree audit regularly (the degree audit is available through WESS). The degree audit lists the courses required for the completion of a degree. Students should also review the Montclair State University Handbook (available on the University website) to familiarize themselves with the University's academic policies.
The Faculty Advisor:
Each student in the Department is assigned a faculty advisor (see below). Faculty advisors can assist students in choosing courses, reviewing degree progress, and processing credit adjustments. They can also be valuable sources of advice and information about future career directions. Each advisor has posted office hours for drop-in or is available by appointment. You can find out who your faculty advisor is by logging into your account in Student Services and clicking on My Advisor.
