Modern Languages Professor Invited to Selective Goethe-Institut Drama Pedagogy Workshop!

Pascale LaFountain, Assistant Professor of German and French, has been invited to a highly selective foreign-language drama pedagogy workshop to be held in Chicago from October 27-29, 2017. The workshop, paid for by the Goethe Institut, links language teaching with techniques from the performing arts. Drama pedagogy allows students to engage with a new language and culture not only cognitively, but also personally, emotionally, socially, and kinesthetically, creating a deeper and fuller learning experience. Dr. LaFountain uses techniques from drama pedagogy in her courses at all levels, and in this workshop she will collaborate with language teachers from around the country, learning new theatrical and language pedagogy strategies to share with German and French students at MSU.
