Lambda Tau Omega (ΛΤΩ)

Nickname: LTO, Enchanting Mermaids

Motto:  Excellence through Unity, Knowledge, and Dedication

Organization Purpose/Description: Lambda Tau Omega (ΛΤΩ) is a multicultural sorority founded in 1988 at Montclair State University by sixteen young, intelligent, and energetic womyn. Their purpose was to establish a multi-cultural organization that would promote "Excellence through Unity, Knowledge, and Dedication:" hence our motto. As sisters of Lambda Tau Omega we strive to enhance professionalism, women empowerment, education, and cultural awareness, while never loosing sight of our philanthropic focus- the welfare of children. We concentrate on providing services that will help ensure children's health, safety, and well-being. As a sorority we also participate in many types of community service activities. Some of our major works of service include; the Blue Ribbon Campaign, a child abuse awareness campaign which takes place every April, and our AIDS Awareness campaign every December. We pride ourselves on being independent womyn who search for quality as opposed to quantity. As such, we welcome all women who share our beliefs, determination, discipline, and dedication to the challenge...the challenge of pledging Lambda Tau Omega, A Sisterhood to last a Lifetime.
