Nomination Procedure

Information About Nominations

  • Open to all CSAM staff and faculty (except for the student awards). 
  • The Graduating Senior Research Award must be made by the research mentor. 
  • The Graduating Masters Graduate Research Award can be made by the research mentor or any faculty member with insight into a student's research thesis. If made by other than the research mentor, the latter individual must authorize  further nomination.
  • The Doctoral Research Award requires the Doctoral Advisor’s name and signature and the date when the qualifying exam was passed. Only doctoral students who have passed the qualifying exam and are well into their dissertation research can be considered. 
  • CSAM faculty and staff can self-nominate.


  • Submit a Nomination Form on HawkSync
  • The nomination application includes:
    1. Nomination Statement – no more than 2500 characters
    2. A Curriculum Vitae
    3. Supporting Documents (3 max) – any additional information: articles, letters of recommendation, etc., which may strengthen the nomination
  • A Nominator can only nominate one person per category.

Award Recepients

  • The Committee members will rank applications in each category.
  • The Committee members cannot vote for someone in their department or unit.
  • Faculty and staff selected for CSAM Awards of Excellence will be recognized at the CSAM Recognition Event to be held on Tuesday, April 28, 2015. 
  • The Graduating Senior Research Award recipient will be recognized at the CSAM Convocation.
