BS/DPT Physical Therapy Program with Rutgers University (6-year program)
A six-year combined BS/DPT program, offered with Rutgers University is composed of three years of undergraduate study at Montclair State and three years of study in the professional phase of the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program at Rutgers. After the completion of the first (graduate) year at Rutgers, the student receives the Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Montclair State University.
Qualified biology/molecular biology majors who are currently enrolled at Montclair State may apply. During the three years at Montclair State, the student must successfully complete the Gen Ed 2002 requirements and a specific science curriculum.
Acceptance into the Physical Therapy program is determined by Rutgers. All applicants are selected on the basis of the following minimum criteria: Graduate Record Exam; minimum GPA of 3.0 overall and in the major; two volunteer or work experiences in two different physical therapy settings; three letters of recommendation; evidence of community service; essay; and an interview (to be conducted by an Admission Committee at Rutgers).
Applicants are expected to have basic computer literacy, including file management, use of word processing and spreadsheet programs, use of e-mail and the Internet.
