BS/PA Physicians Assistant Program with UMDNJ/Rutgers University. (6-year program)

General Information
A six-year combined B.S./M.P.A. program, offered with the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey is composed of three years of undergraduate study at Montclair State and three years of study in the professional phase of the Master of Physician Assistant Program at UMDNJ. After the completion of the first (graduate) year at UMDNJ, the student receives the Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Montclair State University.
Eligibility
Qualified biology/molecular biology majors who are currently enrolled at Montclair State may apply. During the three years at Montclair State, the student must successfully complete Gen Ed 2002 requirements and a specific science curriculum.
Application Process
Acceptance into the Physician Assistant program is determined by UMDNJ. All applicants are selected on the basis of the following minimum criteria: direct patient care experience; volunteer experiences with a Physician Assistant; minimum GPA of 3.0 overall and in the major; an interview (to be conducted by an Admissions Committee at UMDNJ).
Applicants are expected to have basic computer literacy, including file management, use of work processing and spreadsheet programs, use of e-mail and the internet.
