Center for Environmental Management and Analysis (CEMA)

The Center for Environmental Management & Analysis (CEMA) at Montclair State University is a part of the College of Science and Mathematics, within the Department of Earth & Environmental Studies.

CEMA provides university-wide leadership and coordination for energy related and environment related research and service activities. The Center focuses its resources to address:

  • energy
  • air and water quality issues
  • solid and hazardous waste
  • sediment and land contamination
  • coastal resource management

The Center's base of researchers are drawn from a wide range of academic departments at the University. These researchers specialize in:

  • environmental business issues
  • environmental sustainability
  • waste management solutions and analysis
  • alternative energy systems (wind, solar, geothermal, hydro)
  • geo-chemical and soils analysis
  • hydrologic modeling
  • geoscience and underground penetrating radar
  • GIS mapping and remote sensing
