The School of Computing offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in the wide area of Computing. At the undergraduate level it offers degrees in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science and Applied Mathematics and Statistics. At the graduate level if offers degrees in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Cybersecurity, Applied Mathematics, and Statistics. A number of 5-year combined degrees are also offered that allow students to combine an undergraduate area of study with a graduate area of study in a different area of Computing.
The Undergraduate Computer Science and Information Technology degrees are accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission (CAC). This is one of the four commissions operated by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET). Our accreditation paired with an expanding team of faculty that have diverse specialties ensures your experience will help you stand out to employers.
Applied Mathematics and Statistics focuses on the study and development of mathematical disciplines. These disciplines are then applied to present real-world problems. Students have opportunities to perform research in the following branches of modern applied mathematics:
- Data-Driven Analysis
- the science of using mathematics, statistics, and computation to extract knowledge from data
- Financial Mathematics
- the science of modeling and analyzing financial markets
- Fluid Mechanics
- the science of fluids and gases at rest and in motion
- Mathematical Biology
- the science of modeling and analyzing biological processes
- Nonlinear Dynamical Systems
- the science of systems governed by a consistent set of laws over time
- Scientific Computing
- the science of using computers to model complex systems
- Statistics
- the science of extracting information from data
