Current Students Interested in Changing Majors to CSAM

All current students interested in a major in CSAM must take the Math 111 (Precalculus) Placement Test. The test is offered remotely through Canvas. In order to be added to this page in Canvas, please reach out to Ms. Eugenia Providence at providencee@montclair.edu. If you already have credit for Precalculus, Calculus I, or higher then you will be exempt from the test. If your placement is MATH 111, then you will need to take this course as soon as possible.

Please review this link to see if your major requires the Chemistry Readiness Test. If you already have credit for CHEM 120: General Chemistry I, then you will be exempt from the test. If your placement is CHEM 106 Principles of Chemistry then you will take this course as soon as possible. Note: CHEM 100 Introductory Chemistry will not take the place of CHEM 106. The test is offered remotely through Canvas. In order to be added to this page in Canvas, please reach out to chemadvising@montclair.edu or csamssc@montclair.edu.

In addition, depending on the major, prospective College of Science & Mathematics students must meet certain requirements before submitting the Change of Major form. Students that submit this form before meeting the requirements will automatically be denied. New first year students will be able to change majors in their Admissions Portal before August.
