Program (Academic Year and Summer Initiative)

Academic Year

During the academic year, participants attend the program on Saturdays. The Saturday academic component runs from September through May. Saturday sessions run from 9:00am to 3:00pm. During these session students receive the following services: Academic reinforcement in mathematics, sciences and language arts, one-on-one tutoring, financial literacy, peer leadership training, team building activities, personal development, cultural field trips, college campus visits, health and fitness, volunteer activities, counseling and mentoring.

Summer Initiative

During the summer initiative, students are exposed to six weeks of classes (June to August), Monday through Friday, at Montclair State University. Participants will become familiarized with some of the aspects of life on a collegiate campus. They will attend classes in Language Arts, Mathematics, Sciences, Computer Literacy, S.A.T. Test Preparatory, as well as one-on-one tutoring, financial literacy, peer leadership training, team building activities, personal development, cultural field trips, college campus visits, health and fitness, volunteer activities, counseling and mentoring.
