Welcome from the The Graduate School

Welcome to the The Graduate School at Montclair State University. We are pleased that you have chosen to pursue your graduate studies at Montclair State University, and we trust that you will find your graduate experience a rewarding one. In an effort to meet the growing educational needs of the 21st century, we continue to develop many new programs to make your graduate career both exciting and challenging.

The purpose of this graduate section is to provide you with a resource to guide you through your educational journey at Montclair State. We hope that you find the handbook to be a useful tool; one that you will frequently consult for information regarding University policies and procedures for graduate study.

This is a new era for graduate education at Montclair State. We are moving ahead with new doctoral programs. In addition, we will continue to maintain and strengthen the quality of our master’s degree programs, and serve our students who are seeking certification and other educational advancement in a variety of areas. Our close to 100 graduate degree programs and 46 certification and certificate programs focus on meeting the professional development needs of graduate students.

Within the The Graduate School, we continue to enhance the services we provide to students, including creating and updating The Graduate School web page and its related links to other departments, open communication with graduate program coodinators, faculty and staff, as well as continual quality monitoring of all graduate policies and procedures. The The Graduate School offers orientation programs, graduate workshops, on-line resources through our web site, and a graduate student listserv.
