Ombudsperson

Associate Dean James Harris is the University Ombudsperson.  He is here to help if you:

• Think the University has made an error
• Find yourself entangled in polices and procedures
• Feel that you have been treated unfairly
• Need someone to listen to your concerns
• Have suggestions about how to improve the University

The Ombudsperson:

• Provides students with a confidential and neutral place where issues can be discussed

• Acts in an impartial and objective manner to assist students in problem resolution

• Educates students about University polices and procedures
• Refers students to appropriate on- and off-campus resources
• Helps students develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Provides information to students, faculty and staff about student concerns and appeal procedures
