Synopsis:  Students identify, for each of the four basic epidemiological study designs, where data from a flow diagram "fit" into a 2x2 table, reinforcing the value of a 2x2 table as a tool for:

• Classifying disease occurrence according to exposure status
• Calculating risks of disease among the exposed and unexposed
• Calculating the relative risk
• Making inferences

All students will develop problem-solving, decision-making, and inquiry skills, reflected by formulating usable questions and hypotheses, planning experiments, conducting systematic observations, interpreting and analyzing data, drawing conclusions, and communicating results.
