Funding a scholarship or graduate teaching assistantship at Montclair State University may be accomplished by making current outright gifts of cash, stock, land, personal property or a deferred gift in a charitable trust or as a bequest. One of the major advantages of establishing an endowed scholarship is that the fund will be carefully monitored to ensure that any special conditions or provisions related to the gift and the original intent are carried out in perpetuity.
* Endowed scholarships may be created to fit criteria you deem important in recipients. These scholarships award the interest earned by the endowed amount and continue forever. They are an exceptional method to remember and honor people special to you through promoting higher education and assisting deserving students. Endowments may be created incrementally over three years.
* Annual scholarships are pledges to donate a specific dollar amount over a set number of years (or ongoing) to award to qualified students. These scholarships may also be named and criteria set to mirror the qualities deemed necessary to receive the award.
* Lump sum scholarships are gifts of a certain amount that are awarded until the money has been exhausted. They too may be named with the same criteria as the other scholarships.
* The General Scholarship Fund directs support to numerous scholarships throughout the University.
* College of the Arts Advisory Board Scholarship-Donations may be added to this existing fund, which awards scholarships to students in the College of the Arts.
