All full and part-time MSU students are eligible to join MSU EMS. There are two types of membership:
Daytime Volunteers: Members who cover shifts during weekdays from 8am - 11pm (shifts are split into blocks: 8am-11am, 11am-3pm, 3pm-7pm, and 7pm-11pm). Daytime volunteers also cover special events that occur on nights and weekends. Members who volunteer a minimum of eight hours per week are eligible for priority registration. While we're always looking for EMTs with experience, no training is necessary to join. We will make arrangements for new members to attend EMT and CPR training. For more information about becoming a member, click here and someone will contact you shortly.
Resident EMTs: Each academic year, MSU EMS solicits applications for the Resident EMT program. Resident EMTs are responsible for covering night shifts (11pm-8am), and weekend shifts, as well as some weekday daytime shifts. In exchange for covering nights and weekends, Resident EMTs are housed free-of-charge in one of three designated EMT apartments at The Village at Little Falls. The program is typically limited to 12 EMTs. Applicants must meet certain criteria prior to applying to the program. For more information on the Resident EMT program, click here.
