Liz Hogan

Financial Services Executive

Liz Hogan, a highly accomplished and recognized financial services executive, has built her career in the fixed-income markets, most recently as a member of the Executive Committee as a Managing Director, at Societe Generale. She was Deputy Head of the Global Markets Division, a business that generated up to $1BN in revenue with 400 employees.

Liz built an impressive career with Societe Generale rising from her first position as an Executive Assistant to a well-respected Senior Leader within the firm. She built several successful fixed-income businesses and teams, becoming a member of both the America’s and the Global Markets Executive Committees setting strategy and relentlessly driving an agenda committed to selecting, developing and mentoring strong talent for the future. In addition, Liz always focused on delivering the firm to its corporate and institutional clients.

She has held several pivotal roles; most recently, Global Head of Liquidity and Money Market Sales, where she worked closely with Global Institutional Investors to increase investment with Societe Generale. Prior to that, Liz headed the initiative to become a U.S. Primary Dealer with the Federal Reserve (designation received February 2011). She was also Co-head of Fixed Income, Currencies and Commodities Trading and Sales for the Americas. One of Liz’s greatest challenges was in the position of North American Treasurer for Societe Generale where she represented the firm during a rogue trading scandal, successfully reassuring short-term institutional investors to continue to provide liquidity to the bank.

Liz was instrumental in driving significant leadership development and socially-beneficial efforts at Societe Generale. She was the Chairman of the Board of the Americas Women’s Network, which she co-founded in 2005. This network sought to advance the role of women and men through mentoring and leadership training, specifically creating a leadership program with Columbia University. She also served on the Corporate Social Responsibility Committee in the Americas for Societe Generale which focused on community involvement in NYC.

Liz’s commitment and passion for supporting, coaching and mentoring others in their career development, and for establishing groups and organizations to build vital networks extends to her efforts outside of the organization today, where she founded a chapter of 85 Broads, now Ellevate, a women’s professional networking group supporting STEM education in New Jersey. Liz continues to be a member of the Baruch College Executives on Campus and Undergraduate and Graduate Business School Mentoring Programs where she has been involved since 2006. In addition, Liz regularly mentors graduates in career advancement both from her college and her high school.

Liz also is currently consulting on regulation, new business development and Fintech for financial services firms.

Liz received her MBA in Finance from Baruch College in 1999 and her undergraduate degree in French from Franklin & Marshall College in 1986.
