Our History.

New Jersey's Educational Opportunity Fund Program has been the state's most comprehensive effort to eradicate inequality in higher education by addressing the under-representation of low income, students of color, and other disadvantaged students, while improving their graduation results. The EOF Program has provided access to higher education for those population segments, which demonstrate a background of historical impoverishment. Since the program's inception, more than 25,000 of New Jersey's needy students have obtained college degrees, contributing to the health of the economic, cultural, and social fabric of the state. During the last ten years of its near forty years of existence, the New Jersey Education Fund Program has been the catalyst for improved campus climate both in discussions and initiatives to enhance campus climate. EOF assumes a leadership role in addressing public policy issues of improving true educational opportunity for the educational and economically disadvantaged citizens of New Jersey.
