CHANGE Collegian Network (CCN) at Montclair State University is a Class III Christian Organization of the Student Government Association (SGA) of Montclair State University. Chartered in 2008, CCN began as a small, multi-cultural group of Christian students with a desire to know their Lord Jesus Christ on a deeper level and to share Him with others. As members began inviting their friends and strangers to fellowships, CCN quickly became a place where students can go to joyfully share their mutual affection for the Lord and become prepared to introduce Him to others. Our foundation has remained the same since its inception on campus: to grow in Christ through worship and the study of His Word, and to strengthen every Christian’s apologetics (the defense of the faith) through exploring, comparing, and contrasting other religions/worldviews, in order to "be ready always to give an answer to every man that asks you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear" (1 Peter 3:15). Fulfilling Christ’s commission to compassionately, skillfully, and biblically “go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature” (Mark 16:15) will always remain the main focus of our mission. During the semester and on breaks, we host an array of on and off-campus events and activities for students to participate in, along with our regular weekly Bible study fellowships. You won’t want to miss our activities! We host a ton of activities and events during the semester. Our past and planned events include visits to conferences on Christian apologetics including evolution v. creationism, movie nights on campus, Christian rap, spoken word, and dance shows, outreaches in New York City and locally, mission trips, special speaker nights on various issues affecting Christians and the campus community such as freedom of speech and religion, etc. All of our activities are open to all members of the campus community and are geared towards glorifying God, strengthening our faith, and sharing Christ with others in fun and educational ways. The Lord has blessed MSU with more than one on-campus ministry. Let the Lord lead you to which ministry you should commit to. Apologetics - n. (used with a sing. verb) At CCN, we pray, worship our Lord, perform group outreaches, and fellowship on and off-campus together through Christ-centered activities. However, CCN also focuses heavily on rooting and grounding Christians in their faith, strengthening their foundational theology (study of God), and preparing them to "be ready always to give an answer to every man that asks you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear" (1 Peter 3:15) through the use of apologetics. Therefore, not only do we have weekly Bible studies on a variety of important subjects, but we also spend the semester studying, exploring, comparing, and contrasting other religions and worldviews. If you are looking for a fellowship where you can not only grow closer to the Lord and to other Christians, but you can also grow in your understanding of Christianity in a world of many beliefs and ideologies, then come out to CCN and get rooted and grounded in your faith.
