We look forward to your return this fall and would like to take this opportunity to remind you that all vehicles parking on Montclair State University’s campus must be registered to a valid Montclair State University permit.

Below you will find important information about campus parking including the permit registration schedule.

Before you register, remember:

  1. Review your Permit Options online before registering.
  2. Read the Parking Regulations – some things have changed since last year, such as:
    • Resident Parking changes include:
      • Resident students with 90 or more credits will be able to purchase Resident Permits and will be allowed to park in General/Commuter lots overnight without restrictions.
      • NJ Transit permits will be available to resident students with 30 or more credits online, or from the office in the Red Hawk Parking Garage at a reduced rate.
      • All General/Commuter lots will be available to resident students Monday – Wednesday, 4 p.m. – 8 a.m.; and Thursday, 4 p.m. – Monday, 8 a.m., with NJ Transit Parking garage permits purchased through Montclair State online or from the office in the Red Hawk Parking Garage.
    • Commuter Parking changes include:
      • Lot 60 will be expanded to accommodate more vehicles
  3. Students who are not eligible for permits may fill out an exceptions request form for extenuating circumstances. Additional fees may apply.
  4. View the Parking Map to understand the campus layout before the start of the semester.
  5. You may register up to four (4) vehicles – only one (1) registered vehicle is allowed on campus at any given time.
  6. If you wish to change or delete vehicles associated with your account please email or contact us to make the adjustments.

It is the responsibility of all students to purchase a parking permit, to read and abide by the Parking Regulations, and to ensure that all vehicle information is up-to-date.
