Student Services

Picking up Your Package

Email notifications are sent to students when they have a package available for pick-up from Central Receiving. The student’s package will be held for a maximum of three (3) weeks. If the package is not picked up within two (2) weeks, a final notice will be sent to both the student and the Housing Director. The package will then be held for one (1) additional week before it is returned to the sender.

Students must present a photo ID and the tracking number when they arrive to pick-up a package.

Packages that are not properly addressed with the campus address including the students name, dorm & room number will be refused. For example, cell phones are usually shipped to the attention of the contract holder (usually the parent) rather than the student’s name. Please ensure that your packages are properly addressed before completing your online orders. All students living on campus should use the following address formats to help aid in a more timely and efficient delivery of USPS mail and all other shipments (UPS, FedEx, etc):

The following is recommended in the sequence and position indicated for addressing to insure efficient handling and delivery. Please avoid using nicknames.

For students residing in Bohn, Sinatra, Freeman and Russ Halls, The Village at Little Falls, and The Heights:

Your Name
Montclair State University
1 Normal Avenue
Your Residential Building Name & Room Number
Montclair, NJ 07043

For students residing in Hawk Crossings:

Your Name
Montclair State University
65 Clove Road, Apt. #
Little Falls, NJ 07424

If a student needs to pick-up a large package, but cannot transport it themselves, we will make every effort to meet the student at their housing facility with the package. Central Receiving staff are not permitted to transport students in University-owned vehicles and can only take packages to the curbside.

Shipping from Campus

If a student needs to ship a package via FedEx or UPS, the student must make the necessary payment arrangements with the carrier. All packages must have a return label affixed to the box or the carrier should be aware of the package upon arrival and have a call tag on hand. Small packages can be dropped off at the FedEx and UPS drop boxes located across the street from College Hall. Larger packages that will not fit in the drop boxes may be brought to the Central Receiving office in the Maintenance Building for shipping.

Toner Recyling

Empty toner cartridges can be brought to the Central Receiving office for recycling.
