Parking Registration

All juniors, seniors, and graduate students are required to have a parking permit for any vehicle that they park on campus, unless the vehicle will be parked only in the Red Hawk Deck, the NJ Transit garage, or in metered campus spaces. A permit does not provide assurance of a parking space at any given time or location. Permits allow the authorized holder to park in lots designated by the type of permit issued. Freshmen and sophomore students may not obtain a permit to park on campus, other than at the NJ TRANSIT parking garage on Clove Road, as permits and space are available there. Permits are available in a limited number and on a first come, first served basis.

Student surface lot parking permits are available at an annual cost of $100*. A 50% discount is available for hybrid vehicles and a free permit is available for eligible persons driving and registering a Zero Emissions Vehicle (ZEV).

All permits must be re-issued at the start of each new academic year, and 2007-2008 permits expire on August 31, 2008. Permits remain the property of Montclair State University. Please be reminded that students will not be permitted to register for parking for the new academic year until all outstanding fines are paid in full.

Students may register for parking permits for the 2007-2008 Academic Year as follows:

Full-time employees who are current Deck Permit Holders	July 23- July 29, 2007
Full-time employees who are wait listed Deck Permit Holders	July 23- July 29, 2007
Part-time employees who are current Deck Permit Holders	July 30 – August 5, 2007
Part-time employees who are wait listed Deck Permit Holders	July 30– August 5, 2007
Employees who are not current nor wait listed Deck Permit Holders	August 5– August 12, 2007
Juniors, Seniors, and Graduate students who currently possess a Red Hawk Deck Permit	August 13, 2007–August 19, 2007
Juniors, Seniors, and Graduate students who were wait-listed for a Red Hawk Deck Permit prior to July 1, 2007	August 20, 2007 – August 25 2007
All Juniors, Seniors, and Graduate students who wish to buy a Red Hawk Deck Permit	August 26, 2007 – until all permits are sold

 

Surface Lot Permit Availability:

Restricted Full-Time Employee (orange) permits	July 23, 2007 and ongoing
General lot (yellow) permits	July 23, 2007 and ongoing
General lot (yellow) permits (juniors, seniors, and graduate students)	July 30, 2007
Resident lot permits (green) (juniors, seniors, and graduate students who live on campus)	August 1, 2007, until all permits are sold. Quantities are limited

Montclair State University students can register vehicles on-line via E-Park to obtain surface lot or Red Hawk Deck parking permits. The surface lot parking permit will be mailed to the registrant upon successful completion of the web-based registration process. For those students who register for the Red Hawk Deck, transponders can be mailed for an additional fee of $5.00. (Please see the next section for instructions on using E-Park).

Standard application forms for those without computer access or for those who wish to pay by cash or check may be picked up and submitted at the Parking Services Office on the first level in the Red Hawk Deck.
