Visitors must park at a metered space located in a surface lot, or in the Red Hawk Deck located on the main campus, or in the NJ Transit Parking Deck located on Clove Road.
Surface lots, with the exception of metered spaces, are for MSU permit parking only.
Metered pay stations are located in lots 17, 27, 47, and the Red Hawk Diner lot. Meter rates are $.50 for each half-hour for a maximum of three hours at most locations. Payment must be made in advance at the common pay station in each metered area. These machines accept bills, coins, or credit cards. Metered spaces are enforced 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The Red Hawk Parking Deck is located on the main campus, adjacent to the Alexander Kasser Theater. The Red Hawk Parking Deck has a capacity of 984 parking spaces, including 21 accessible spaces for disabled parkers.
The NJ Transit Parking Garage is located on Clove Road, across from the Student Residential Village at Little Falls. The NJ Transit Parking Garage has 1,500 parking spots, including approximately 30 accessible spaces. Transportation from The NJ Transit Parking Garage to the main campus is available via campus shuttle bus.

Visitors traveling to campus via public transportation will find bus and train information here and at the NJ Transit web site.
Visitors may ride the campus Shuttle Bus Service free of charge. Please visit the following links to obtain information about Shuttle Bus Schedules and a route map. All University shuttle buses are equipped with wheelchair lifts and are accessible to the disabled.
For disabled visitors to campus, accessible transportation can be arranged by calling 973-655-5444. This service is available Mondays – Fridays 7:30 a.m. – 11:00 p.m. and upon a pre-arrangement for groups attending special events on campus during weekends.

Please Note: There is no parking, standing, or stopping on any roadways on campus. Stopping, standing, or idling for the purposes of picking up or discharging passengers is prohibited on all roadways and in areas that block access to driveways, sidewalks, stairs, delivery areas, loading zones, parking stalls, curb cuts for the disabled, or entrances and exits to parking lots. There is no parking, stopping, standing, or idling permitted within the campus core, which has been designated a pedestrian area only for safety purposes. These particular rules and regulations are enforced by University police, who issue citations returnable to the local municipality in which the violation took place.
