Biography
Eric Dupont is a versatile drummer and dedicated educator currently teaching in the Recording Arts & Production department. He holds a bachelor’s degree from William Paterson University and is an alumnus of the Jazz Studies graduate program at Montclair State University, where he studied with mentors Billy Hart, Winard Harper, and Alvester Garnett. Eric has earned scholarships and grants from the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) and the Music Business Association. He was also selected as a fellow for the Program for Jazz at Ravinia's Steans Music Institute.
Eric maintains an active career as a freelance performer of a wide range of musical styles. He regularly performs throughout the greater New York and Boston areas, having appeared at notable venues across the northeast such as the Wang Theatre, Mechanics Hall, MASS MoCA & the Boothbay Harbor Opera House, among many others.
