Erika Sulich

Biography

Erika Sulich serves as an adjunct faculty member at the John J. Cali School of Music, where she teaches Brass Methods II to undergraduate students. In this role, she guides future music educators in developing effective low brass pedagogy, emphasizing in instructional strategies essential for the classroom and ensemble settings. Professor Sulich earned a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Montclair State University, with concentration on euphonium under the instruction of Dr. Mary Ann Craig. Following her undergraduate studies, she served as a music educator in the New Jersey public school system for several years before returning to Montclair State University to complete a Master’s degree in Music Performance, studying wind band conducting with Dr. Thomas McCauley. Her performance opportunities include appearances at venues such as Carnegie Hall.

Research

Professor Sulich has extensive teaching experience across both middle and high school levels, with expertise in wind ensemble, concert band, jazz band, marching band, and pit orchestra direction. Along with teaching Brass Techniques, she is the Director of Bands at Martin J. Ryerson Middle School in Ringwood, NJ.
