Biography
Jason Guzman is an adjunct professor of media production at Montclair State University, where he teaches production and storytelling, active learning and collaborative projects and act. His courses help students build practical skills in planning, interviewing, scripting, visual storytelling, and editing, while connecting creative development to real production workflows.
His teaching is informed by his work as Senior Media Producer at Columbia University, as Founding Director of Flywheel Film(https://www.flywheelfilm.com/), a creative media agency producing campaigns and content for public institutions, nonprofits, and brands, and by his work with Kutr(https://www.kutr.ai/), an AI-supported editing platform. His interests include how students develop fluency across creative toolchains, using AI to generate and shape ideas across video, audio, and concept development, then translate those outputs into producible assets that can move through real production pipelines.
A central part of his teaching is helping students explore AI workchains and productive in practice, while maintaining critical judgment and human oversight. His interests include project-based learning, active learning, Universal Design for Learning, and the ethical use of emerging tools, including questions of authorship, bias, disclosure, intellectual property, academic integrity, and quality control.
