Biography

I am delighted to serve on the voice faculty at Montclair State University’s John J. Cali School of Music. In my studio, I work with singers on building a reliable, expressive technique while refining stylistic awareness across repertoire. I also teach courses focused on professional development, guiding students through the practical and artistic realities of building a career in singing.

As a performer, I have appeared with many of the world’s leading opera companies, including the Metropolitan Opera, Oper Frankfurt, Dallas Opera, Hong Kong Opera, Royal Opera Oman, Teatro Petruzzelli, Opera Philadelphia, Lyric Opera of Chicago, and Pittsburgh Opera. My concert work includes performances with the Philadelphia Orchestra and Chicago Symphony Orchestra, as well as recital appearances at Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center.

In addition to my work at Montclair, I serve as Director and Head Teacher of the Chautauqua Opera Conservatory and maintain a private studio in New York City. I have previously taught at the Curtis Institute of Music, Manhattan School of Music, the University of British Columbia, and the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.

I am deeply committed to helping singers become autonomous, thoughtful artists. My goal is to equip students with a technical foundation that gives them freedom—freedom to communicate, to explore, and to sustain meaningful artistic careers.
