Biography

Priscila Laforet is a registered nurse and public health professional with diverse experience across clinical care, academic research, and program coordination. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Southern Maine and a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology from New York University’s School of Global Public Health. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Bowdoin College.

Her professional journey spans high-acuity clinical practice in labor and delivery, epidemiology research, program management, oncology care navigation and patient advocacy. She currently still practices as a Labor & Delivery nurse, where she provides culturally competent, patient-centered care throughout the childbirth continuum.

Her teaching interests include maternal and child health, human development, nursing care of vulnerable populations, public health program planning, medical terminology, and interdisciplinary approaches to healthcare delivery. She is passionate about empowering the next generation of nurses and public health professionals to lead with knowledge, empathy, and cultural competence.
