Fall 2013

The Fall 2013 edition of Montclair State University's award-winning Forward Thinking research newsletter highlights how a faculty researcher’s promising study of black tea extract could lead to relief for those who with herpes and how another’s research could eventually lead to new ways to prevent skin cancer. University researchers are also studying the teen wage gap; testing how food presentation affects taste preferences; evaluating the state's charter school grant program; measuring levels of mercury in New Jersey’s aquatic ecosystems; looking for ways to prevent pitching injuries; and listening to the universe using a gravitational-wave observatory. Additionally, the National Science Foundation has granted the University two large grants to recruit and prepare new science and math teachers.
