Giving to MSU

When you support higher education by making a gift to Montclair State University, you are investing in the future. A gift of any size to the Montclair State University Foundation is a significant way of acknowledging the University's efforts to help its students meet the needs of an increasingly complex society.

When you make a gift to a state assisted university such as Montclair State, you enrich education. Your support can help the University build and restore campus facilities. Your contribution can offset the costs of a variety of activities and materials associated with university life, including: support for improved teaching, funding costs of scholarly research, upgrading or augmenting equipment in the University's physical facilities.

Funds may be added to the endowment or used to support University facilities, programs or services that the Foundation and the University president have identified as a high priority. Or, donors may choose to provide support for a particular program, a new or existing facility, an academic department, a scholarship fund, lecture fund, or a restricted endowment.

Through your gift to the Montclair State University Foundation, you can help to support:

Scholarship programs for talented and deserving students at every level
The Foundation administers named and general scholarship funds and awards at the
undergraduate, master's and doctoral level in the University's six colleges and schools. In addition to scholarships designated for specific fields of study, Foundation funding supports scholarships for students with economic need, honors and talent-based scholarships, and scholarships for non-traditional aged undergraduates preparing for a second career.

Endowed chairs, professorships and lectureships
Gifts to the MSU Foundation can help the University recruit and retain outstanding faculty members through endowed chairs, professorships and faculty lectureship programs. In addition to teaching and research, faculty scholars who occupy endowed positions help establish and maintain public programs and strengthen the University's position as resource to the state and the region.

Construction and renovation of campus facilities
To help Montclair State University meet the needs of New Jersey students, the MSU Foundation seeks gifts to help support the construction and renovation of better-equipped academic buildings, enhance residence life facilities and develop resources that meet the social, recreational and cultural needs of both students and the citizens of the region.

Purchase of state-of-the-art teaching materials and related equipment
Whether for the music and art programs or computer, science, and languages laboratories, new technological equipment purchased with Foundation funding helps keep MSU faculty up to date in their disciplines and prepares students for the challenges of careers in a technological complex world.

Acquisitions, including books, periodicals, and software for the University Library Collection
Gifts to MSU Foundation enhance the University's capacity to keep its faculty and students on the leading edge of knowledge, in touch with new information in a world of constant change.
