Teaching in English On Campus Program
An International Faculty Advancement Program
Teaching in English On-Campus program was launched in the summer of 2012 due to an overwhelming demand by partner universities who wanted their faculty to have an American experience during their training period. The program is held at the Montclair State University campus from the beginning of July to the beginning of August. The 4-week intensive course of study combines 3 TIE courses (selected from the Course of Study list), guided cultural excursions to places of interest in metropolitan New York, a lecture series on American issues, and round table discussions on topics of current interest. All the courses, lectures and discussions are led by Montclair State faculty from various disciplines. The On-Campus program hosts participants from many countries and provides the opportunity for faculty to interact with their international counterparts.
Participants are housed in an apartment-style, air conditioned residence on the Montclair State University campus with access to all campus facilities and academic, recreational and cultural activities, including the library, recreational center, pools, art gallery, fitness center, computer labs, cafes and restaurants. Montclair State University is located within easy access to Newark Liberty International Airport, NJ and only 14 miles west of New York City, and offers a green, safe, suburban community with easy access to Manhattan by train and bus. Train stations and a bus stop to New York and other suburbs are located right on campus.
