The International Travel Photography competition, started in 2002 as ajoint project between the Global Education Center and the University Art Galleries, has expanded in 2010 to include our international partner universities. In honor of the Chinese Festival of the Arts and Humanities, the 2010 exhibition focuses exclusively on China.
The exhibition continues to draw out talents and skills. We have also included, by special invitation, images by a faculty member at our partner institution in Graz, Austria and by a Broadcasting Department student who helped produce the video vignettes of Chinese artists for the Chinese Festival.
This year the panel of judges included professional photographer Jay Seldin, Professor Andrew Atkinson of the Department of Art and Design, and Mike Peters, Director of Photographic Services, University Communications. I would like to extend our thanks to the judges for their work in selecting the photographs to be exhibited.
On behalf of the Global Education Center, I would like to congratulate the winners of the contest and all who shared their fascinating images. As you continue to explore the world beyond our campus you enrich us all.
