Applying for Admission
Montclair State University welcomes and values international students on our campus and we encourage you to apply for admissions. We are currently accepting applications for all levels of study including undergraduate (Bachelors degree), graduate (Masters degree or Professional Certificate Programs), and for the Doctoral degree. We also welcome inquiries from Exchange Students who wish to study for one or two semesters and then return to their home country universities.

Applying for an I-20 Form
International Students planning degree study in the United States are required to obtain the Student (F-1) Visa unless they have another valid non-immigrant visa status that allows them to remain in the U.S. If you plan to obtain the Student Visa F-1 status for study at Montclair State University, you must apply and be accepted to the University and obtain the I-20 Certificate of Financial Eligibility form from the Office of International Services. The I-20 form is required in order to obtain valid F-1 Student visa status. Instructions for applying for the I-20 Form are also listed under each category to the left.
Financial Information
Montclair State University offers a quality education for an affordable tuition. Students on most non-immigrant visa types including F-1 and J-1 visas must pay out-of-state non-resident tuition. To offset the costs we have tuition assistance available for F-1 and J-1 visa holders through Partial Tuition Waivers, Graduate Assistantships, Scholarships.
