Global Images 2005:
    International Travel Photography
by MSU Faculty and Staff

Sponsored by The Global Education Center and MSU Art Galleries

Exhibition March 3- March 25, 2005 in Gallery One

Opening Reception Wednesday March 9  4:00-6:00

February 2005

The fourth annual “Global Images 2005” exhibit features 70 photographs taken in 19 countries by 19 Montclair State University faculty and staff.  We continue to be impressed by the quality of the photography and by the extent of the international travel undertaken by our campus community.  We invite you to explore these photographs and the worlds they represent through the eyes of the photographers and the lenses of their cameras.

A special thanks to the Committee of Jurors. Under the direction of Professor Walter D. Swales, Dept. of Art and Design-Sculpture, the jury for the 2005 competition was composed of MSU’s own Master of Fine Arts students, allowing them the opportunity to test their skills and gain exposure as critics. The jurors included Leslie Alfin, 1st year M.F.A. Program, Dept. of Art and Design, Sculpture; Nathan Skiles, 1st year M.F.A. Program, Dept. of Art and Design, Sculpture; and Asha Ganpat, 2nd year M.F.A. Program, Dept. of Art and Design, Sculpture. The jurors made a blind selection of the photographs for the exhibit and chose the three prize winners and four honorable mentions.

Most of all, on behalf of the Global Education Center and the MSU Art Gallery, we congratulate the faculty and staff members who, through their photographs, have shared with us a beautiful moment, frozen in time, that happened many miles away.
