Master's Degree in Teaching & Teaching Cert.

Montclair State University offers nearly 100 graduate programs, with a significant portion geared for future teachers. The Graduate School offers three levels of programs for certification; Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.), Master of Arts in Teaching - Dual Certification (M.A.T. Dual Cert), and Initial Teacher Certification.

Please note that we look at a variety of factors when determining admission to the Teacher Education Program and we choose candidates who demonstrate the best potential in all areas. Meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee acceptance into the Teacher Education Program.
