Music Education (Advanced Cert)
The John J. Cali School of Music at Montclair State University is pleased to offer a special advanced certificate program for K-12 music teachers. Courses are specifically designed with today's music educator in mind, offering a thoughtful blend of theory and practice. Upon program completion, students will receive a certificate and transcript representing 15 credit hours of graduate work. In order to receive the advanced certificate, all 15 credits must be completed in a maximum of 15 months. Twelve credits can transfer into the Master of Arts in Music Education program.
In order to apply for this certifcate, applicants must submit The Graduate School online application, official transcripts from all previous institutions attended, and a copy of the teaching certificate in Music (standard or alternate route.)
