School Business Administrator CertificationChairperson Eunice Grippaldi PROGRAM DESCRIPTIONA School Business Administrator performs duties at the school district level in the areas of budget preparation and administration, risk management, purchasing, transportation, food services, school plant operations and facility planning. S/he typically supervises, manages and coordinates the business affairs of the school district efficiently and effectively to help to achieve the educational goals of the district with the available financial resources. REQUIREMENTSThis is an accelerated certification program, which allows students to complete the requirements for the certification in only nine months while working full-time. Coursework will be completed through a combination of in-person and online work as described below in the example of the accelerated program schedule. Students may begin the program in either the fall or spring semester, and complete the accelerated program during the following semester. Students who are unable to take courses on a Friday/Saturday schedule may complete the program on a traditional (non-accelerated) semester schedule; however, this option will take longer than nine months to complete. Applicants must complete the Graduate Admission Application and submit the Statement of Objectives, application fee, bachelor’s degree transcript, and either a master’s degree transcript or copy of CPA license. DEADLINESCredentials are processed as soon as they are received. This program does not have a specific deadline; however, the Office of Graduate Admissions & Support Services recommends that students submit their credentials as far in advance as possible for the semester they plan to begin their studies to ensure a timely review of their application.
