Master of Arts in Psychology Requirements
Graduate Program Coordinator Dr. Valerie Sessa The Master of Arts in Psychology is designed primarily as an intermediate degree. This program prepares the student for advanced studies in many psychological fields such as developmental, experimental, learning, personality and counseling, school, and social psychology.
I. Required Courses (13 semester hours)
PSYC 510, Research Methods in Psychology, 3 credits PSYC 520, Human Experimental Psychology, 4 credits PSYC 550, Quantitative and Statistical Methods, 3 credits PSYC 578, Psychological Tests and Measurements, 3 credits
II. Specialization courses (12 semester hours)
To be selected with the advice and approval of the Graduate
Program Coordinator.
III. Free electives (6 semester hours)
To be selected with the advice and approval of the Graduate
Program Coordinator.
IV. Thesis
PSYC 600, Thesis, 4 credits
V. Comprehensive Examination
Successful completion of a written comprehensive examination precedes the oral defense of the thesis.
