Master of Arts in Psychology
ADMISSIONS
All applicants must meet the admission requirements for graduate study at MSU. In addition, applicants must meet the following departmental requirements.
- 12 undergraduate credits in psychology including a course in statistics and a laboratory course in experimental psychology.
- The Advanced Psychology Test of the Graduate Record Examination (for the M.A. in Psychology and the School Psychologist Certification programs only).
- Approval by the departmental committee.
Additional requirements for admission to the School Psychologist Certification program:
- Four letters of recommendation.
- Approval by the departmental committee. All materials must
be received by
the Office of Graduate Admissions & Support Services office by February 1 for the following September.
- Applicants without an advanced degree should also apply for either
the MA in Psychology or MA in Educational Psychology.
DEADLINES
Credentials are processed as soon as they are received.
The above program operates on a rolling admissions
basis; however, the Office of Graduate Admissions & Support Services recommends that students submit their credentials as far in advance as possible from the semester they plan to begin their studies to ensure a timely review of their application.
