Master of Arts in TheatreThe Master of Arts in Theatre program is designed to enhance the student's existing skills in theatre or to develop skills acquired from related or ancillary backgrounds. The program is structured to emphasize both theoretical and practical approaches to theatre as well as allow for original research and creative projects. Concentrations are available in Arts Management, Production/Stage
Management, and Theatre Studies. Theatre Studies is ideal for those
seeking a generalized knowledge of theatre or who are planning to continue with
doctoral studies, while Production/Stage Management is more practice-oriented,
preparing students for behind-the-scenes careers in stage or production
management. For those interested in the organizational and business aspects of
running an arts-related organization, Arts Management is the ideal choice, where
one can take courses in the College of the Arts, as well as in the School of
Business and Department of Law and Governance. Regardless of the concentration,
students will experience course sequences and content designed to strengthen
research, performance and production. including the literature and history of
the discipline. Graduates leave the program with the academic and professional
skills necessary to become practitioners of the selected concentration. Offering
