Curriculum Requirements for MA in Theatre, Production/Stage Management

The candidate must complete all three parts of the requirements and a Comprehensive Exam for the degree as detailed below (s.h. indicates semester hours or credits):

I. Required Common Core (6 s.h.)

THTR 501, Research Methods in Theatre, (3)
THTR 534, Graduate Theatre Readings, (3)

II. Required Courses (15-16 s.h.)

THTR 507, Theatrical Production, (3)
THTR 508, Internship, (6-7)
THTR 581, Stage Management, (3)
THTR 582, Production Management, (3)

III. Electives (12 s.h.)
To be selected in consultation with Graduate Coordinator

Highly recommend courses include:

THTR 545, Scenic Design I: The Legitimate Theatre
THTR 554, Stage Lighting Design
THTR 580, Theatre Management

Total Credits: 33 - 34

Comprehensive Exam Required. May be taken after completing 24 semester hours of graduate work.
