Where
do I get my MSU I.D. Card?
New employees should take a completed Employee
ID Card Form to the first floor of the Student Center (I-Card
Office). This form must be signed by an HR Staff member.
Where
should I park?
Employee parking is available only in lots designated for faculty
and staff. Please visit Parking
Services for current updates on campus parking
Where
do I get a parking permit?
Parking Permits are available in the Parking Office in the Red Hawk
Parking Garage. Parking Services has introduced E-Park.
E-Park is a system whereby registration for parking permits and
citation payments can be transacted online, with payment made by
Visa or Mastercard where appropriate. Every member of the University
community is required to display a current MSU decal on either the
driver's side rear window or a hanger on the rear view mirror of
their vehicle.
What
is my work schedule?
All offices are generally open each weekday between the hours of
8:30am to 4:30pm except when otherwise noted. Unit Directors may
schedule additional hours of operation depending upon their respective
needs. Notices of changes to the workday hours can be found on the
HR
Main Website.
At
what time and where should I report on my first day?
You should check with your supervisor for proper time and location.
When
do I get my first paycheck?
Employees are paid bi-weekly on Fridays. The payroll office publishes
a calendar with a list of pay dates.
Regular employees pay dates differ from that of students, temporary
service, limited duration, etc. employees. Employees wishing to
view and print a copy of their paystub, or access or change their
personal payroll information should visit WEB
for Employees. You may contact Payroll Services at ext.4244
for further information.
How do I get direct deposit and when does it start?
Employees are encouraged to use Direct
Deposit for paychecks. Please go to the Payroll Office (316A
College Hall) to initiate Direct Deposit or download the Direct
Depost Form
fill it out and send it to Payroll Services. Direct Deposit can
take up to two weeks to start.
When
am I eligible for benefits?
Benefits for full-time, non-faculty employees begin 60 days after
the date of hire. Faculty should contact Ms. Helen Caruso at ext.
4394 for more information on effective dates.
How
do I get an e-mail account?
E-mail accounts are available to faculty and staff at MSU. Your
e-mail account is automatically established 3-5 days after your
employment at the University begins. The address, which reads as
"username@mail.montclair.edu" can be accessed through
any web browers with Internet access. Please refer to New
Employee Procedures for Establishing E-mail Accounts
for
further instructions.
Am
I eligible for tuition waiver or reimbursement?
Full-time administrative, professional and non-unit employees
are eligible to apply for tuition reimbursement or tuition waiver.
All full-time, permanent, classified employees of MSU are eligible
to apply for a tuition waiver. Please see Tuition
Waiver and Reimbursement for
further instructions and to
obtain the neccessary forms.
Are my children eligible to use the waiver?
The tuition waiver is available for dependents of IFPTE-195 and
AFT-1904 Union employees at this time.
Am
I a union employee?
Union participation depends how your position is categorized. Classified,
Unclassified/Librarians and Faculty are union eligible. Managerial
employees are ineligible for union participation. If you have any
questions regarding union participation or eligibility, contact
Staffing Services at ext. 7632 or Employee Relations at ext. 4498.
May I use the MSU Library?
The Library is available for use by all employees and eligible
family members, at no cost. A valid ID is required. The Harry A.
Sprague Library is housed in a centrally located, attractive, modern
building. (See All in the MSU Family)
What
if I have a change of address after I start work?
If you have a change of address, phone number, or emergency contact,
please notify Human Resources and Payroll with your current information
as soon as possible. To do this, you can visit Human Resources and
fill out the forms there or download the Personnel
Information Form, Federal
and State
W-4's, complete and send them to Human Resources, College Hall,
Room 316.
