Visiting professors on separate missions
to help solve problems in their homelands

 

 

Jacob Kattakayam, a faculty member at the University of Kerala, is teaching a seminar on social problems of India in the Anthropology Department and is working with Mary Holley of Sociology to teach a comparative course on aging in India and the United States. One of India's foremost social scientists, Kattakayam has conducted research on the tribal minority peoples of Kerala and on the sociology of aging in Kerala and India. (Click here for full story.) Visiting Fulbright scholar Gabriela Lojová, a faculty member of the English Language and Literature Department at Comenius University in Bratislava, Slovakia, is developing a new model of teaching language techniques.
