February is African-American Heritage Month and the theme for this year's celebration at Montclair State University is "We Are Africans Wherever We Are: Our Past, Our Present, Our Future." The following is a list of events sponsored by African-American Studies. (See co-sponsors at left.)

Feb. 7: Panel Discussion: "What's up with the N Word: Slang or Slur." 7 p.m., Student Center, Ballrooms. For more information, call OSAU at 973-655-4198.

Feb. 8: Conference for high school teachers: "When & Where I Enter: Celebrating Black Women's History, Literature and Art." 8:30 a.m., Student Center, Ballrooms.

Performance: "I Question America: The Life of Fannie Lou Hamer" by E.P. McKnight. 11:30 a.m, Student Center, Ballrooms.

Feb. 10: African Connections Lecture and Discussion Series: "The Bedrock of Pan-Africanism: A Positivist Conception African History" by Opoku Agyeman of Political Science. Noon, Sprague Library, Special Collections Room.

Feb: 15: Kapallo Talent Night. 7 p.m., Student Center, Ballrooms.

Feb: 16: Panel Discussion: "Pearls of Wisdom." Presented by the MSU Black Alumni Committee. 6-9 p.m., Student Center, Dining Room.

Feb: 17: African Connections Lecture and Discussion Series: "The Core Elements of Pan-Africanism" by Opoku Agyeman of Political Science. Noon, Dickson Hall, Room 178.
