Ann Frechette has joined the division of University Advancement as executive director of Communications and Marketing. Prior to Montclair State, Frechette was vice president of Global Communications for Celanese AG, a leading global chemicals concern. Prior to Celanese, she held domestic and global communications and public affairs positions for the Exxon Corporation. She has a B.A. in Communications from Florida State University. In her role at MSU, Frechette oversees the Office of Communications, Public Information, Publications, Sports Information and Web Services. "Montclair State is rapidly becoming one of the country's preeminent centers for learning and teaching excellence, with a rich and expanding curriculum, new and emerging technology that is transforming the learning process, globally focused study and collaborative research initiatives," said Frechette. "I am honored and delighted to have the opportunity to work with the University's leaders to create a more visible presence and make MSU's special strengths well known to potential students and educators as well as external supporters." Eduardo Gil, head of the Periodicals Department for Library Services will serve as a Trustee of the Bloomfield Public Library for the next four years. Julian Keenan of Psychology recently was featured in several media oulets including Fox News, Life and Style, The Washington Post, O Magazine and Ladies Home Journal for his research on lying. Joe Samuel Starnes of English will have his first novel, Calling, the story of a fallen Baptist preacher and a burned-out country music disc jockey whose lives intertwine when they meet on a bus leaving Las Vegas, published this summer by Jefferson Press. |
