HOMECOMING 2005

The life and career of football great Sam Mills ’87, who passed away in April, was celebrated at Homecoming during a special halftime helmet presentation ceremony. The helmet was one of six presented to the University by Mills' 1980 teammates spanning the career of the NFL All-Pro. The helmets will be displayed inside the trophy case of Panzer Gymnasium. Pictured: President Susan A. Cole accepts a commemorative helmet from Tom Morton, co-captain of the 1980 Montclair State football team.

Montclair State University’s new scoreboard at Sprague football field was officially dedicated during MSU’s Homecoming ceremonies Saturday, Oct. 8. Cutting the ribbon at a dedication ceremony were MSU Foundation Board of Trustee member Judith Schumacher Tilton, second from left, and her husband, Stephen Tilton, third from left, of Upper Montclair. The couple gave the scoreboard to the University as a gift in late summer. Schumacher Tilton is owner of Schumacher Chevrolet in Little Falls. Representing the dealership were General Manager Peter Sabatino, far right, his wife, Karen, third from right, and his daughter, Gina, a sophomore at MSU. Far left is Dr. Thomas J. Haynes, vice president for University Advancement.
