University Gallery:
Through Dec. 18: "Art Market." More than 250 original art works will be drawn from professionals and students from New York and New Jersey. This fund-raising exhibition will benefit Montclair State art education and the Alumni Association.

Dec. 9-12: "Twilight of the Golds" by Jonathan Tollins. A gripping drama that follows a family as it deals with the controversial issues of genetic testing and abortion. 8 p.m. with a 2 p.m. matinee Dec. 11. L. Howard Fox Studio Theatre. Free. Sponsored by Players.

Dec. 15, 17-19: Michael Nyman's "Man and Boy: Dada." Set in post-World War II London, the story is an imagined episode in the life of Kurt Schwitters, noted German artist and co-founder of the Dada movement, and his unlikely friendship with a young, English boy who shares his obsession for discarded bus tickets. 7:30 p.m., with a 2 p.m. show on Dec. 19, Alexander Kasser Theater.

Feb. 9-12: Robert LePage's "The Busker's Opera." The American premiere of this new music-theater piece adapted from John Gay's 18th-century masterpiece, "The Beggar's Opera." 7:30 p.m., Alexander Kasser Theater.

Feb. 24-26: "Flyin' West" by Pearl Cleage. Directed by Suzanne Trauth. 7:30 p.m. Feb. 24-26; 1 p.m. Feb. 25; 2 p.m. Feb. 27, Alexander Kasser Theater.

March 30 and April 1-3: "Oedipus," directed by Bob McGrath, a three-time Obie Award winner. In this adaptation, McGrath explores Harry Partch's seminal work based on Sophicles' play. Rarely performed because of the technical complexities, "Oedipus" features five solo voices, chorus, traditional western instruments and several of Partch's own inventions. 7:30 p.m., Alexander Kasser Theater.

April 11-17: "Trojan Women" by Euripides. Directed by Jorge Cacheiro. 7:30 p.m., April 11-16; 1 p.m. April 15 and 2 p.m. April 17. L. Howard Fox Studio Theatre.

Week of Dec. 6: "The View from Uzbekistan." An overview of life in this Central Asian nation, the development of Uzbek journalism since its independence from the Soviet Union, how technology is similar to U.S. radio and television, but reporters still rely on western journalists to supplement their coverage of foreign affairs, and how Uzbeks are making efforts to overcome self-censorship. Features radio news editor Gulchenka Uimasbayova and Obid Shamanov, director of the journalism debate club "The Reporter." Week of Dec. 20: "Clearing the Air About Smoking." Smoking kills, but what is society doing about it? Dr. Fred Jacobs, president of New Jersey Breathes, describes how second-hand smoke causes tens of thousands of deaths, and how city-wide smoking bans have helped cut the risk of heart attacks and other diseases. Produced and hosted by Bill Berlin; directed by Patrick King.
Week of Dec. 27: "Outsourcing U.S. Jobs: The Impact on New Jersey." How has outsourcing affected the lifestyles of workers in New Jersey, Mexico and India? U.S. employees lose and U.S. companies gain, while they often exploit their new foreign
