Joseph S. Attanasio of Communication Sciences and Disorders has had published, with Ann Packman of the Australian Stuttering Research Centre, Theoretical Issues in Stuttering by Taylor & Frances, 2004. Julian Keenan of Psychology was the subject of an article, "Montclair Professor Asks Questions About Why People Lie," posted Nov. 15 on Newsday.com. The article focuses on Keenan's research on lying. Copies of the article are available in the Office of Communications, College Hall, Room 313. Sue Pasquino of the Academic Success Center, Barbara Ritola of the Provost's Office, Rose Wesolowski of Career Development and Phyllis Wooster of the Presidents Office, all members of the MSU Chapter of the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP), represented the chapter at the IAAP 59th International Convention and Education Forum held in Washington, D.C. this past summer. IAAP is a nonprofit professional organization for administrative support staff that sets standards of excellence recognized by the business community and provides information, education and training to its members. (See story in this issue.) Elaine Russo, Barbara Turner and Beverly Ververs of the Center For Community-Based Learning presented a round table session, "Best Practices: Assessment Instrument Construction," at the Mid-Atlantic Cooperative Education and Internship Conference, October 13-15, in Atlantic City. Michael Zey of Management had an op-ed, "A Post-Petroleum Energy Vision," published in the Nov. 21 edition of The Washington Times. In the article, Zey predicts that future oil prices will force the United States and other countries to turn to nuclear power, hybrid autos and, eventually, fusion for their energy needs. Copies of the article are available from the Communications Office, College Hall, Room 313. Zey also was quoted in an article, "Man and Machine," that appeared in the October issue of RFID Journal. The article examines the impact of radio-frequency identification technologies on jobs and the economy.
