Since the launch of the capital campaign in October, Development
officers have been hard at work telling the Montclair State story--from
its beginnings as an opportunity institution to its future as a national
and international model for public higher education.
"Members of the Development staff have been on the
front lines sharing the great history and promising future of Montclair
State," said Thomas Haynes, vice president for University Advancement.
"We are spreading the word about why support for The Campaign
for the Second Century is essential in educating future generations
of students as well as ensuring the vitality of the state and region." "Friends of the University, old and new, are realizing
that they can make a difference in the lives of students and play a role
in ensuring that the educational opportunities for which Montclair State
has become so well known remain available for future generations,"
Haynes said. Among the loyalist friends of the University, Haynes said, are members of the faculty, staff and administration, who will be instrumental in ensuring the success of the campaign. "One of the University's greatest assets is its employees," he said, "and we will make a concerted effort to keep the campus community informed about the campaign's progress and programs geared specifically for employees." Nancy Masterson-Newkirk, Development coordinator for Communications
and Marketing, said a committee is being formed that will spearhead efforts
in communicating campaign news to the faculty and staff.
